From Crutches to Champion to Owner

Dave Clark contracted polio shortly before the vaccine was discovered, losing the use of his legs as an infant. Instead of being defined by that reality, he built his life around strength, discipline, and work ethic — focusing on what he could do and what he could control.

Baseball became his proving ground. At eight years old he picked up a softball and showed he could compete, changing how others saw him — not as different, but as one of them. The same drive carried into everything he did, including climbing a gym rope to the ceiling using only his arms.

As a player with the Indianapolis Clowns in the mid-1970s, Dave earned respect through performance and preparation. And as owner of the franchise today, he continues that standard — demanding effort, accountability, and real baseball beneath the entertainment.
